This presents unique challenges to personal career management and internal corporate communication, frustrated further by analog processes and distance from loved ones. But the Royal Navy is determined to provide all personnel with the best lived experience. In three short months, we set out to develop a digital customer experience that empowers Royal Navy personnel and transforms their career needs – on their time and their terms.
The career companion
A decade of collaboration across the Royal Navy, British Army, and RAF, gives us unique insight into the Defence sector – its needs, its systems, and its ambitions. To improve retention and sentiment, the Royal Navy and Great State teamed up once again to respond to the needs of Naval personnel with an innovative new app: MyNavy. Efficient, empowering, and personalised, the digital career companion streamlines outdated processes and enhances the Royal Navy experience for everyone, including Veterans and families.
A one-stop career shop
MyNavy works as well for the experienced engineer, as it does for the apprentice chef. A one-stop shop for Naval career services, it puts users in control of healthcare access, travel bookings, family support, and so much more.
Lifting the fog on communication, ‘Announcements’ act as a single source of news, service-wide updates, and personalised notifications. The new online clothing store replaces a frustrating analogue system, making it easier for personnel to get the right kit, at the right time, with click-and-collect functionality.
The Leadership Centre of Excellence hosts enrichment resources like articles and podcasts for personnel to engage with, at their own pace. Built for the user, the input of thirty-eight service members - from all services, branches, and ranks - is weaved into the fabric of the app. And it’s designed to adapt to future needs. MyNavy meets the needs of every single member of the Royal Navy, at every stage of their Naval career, wherever they are in the world.
